MY FAVOURITE
BANDS & SINGERS!
Well's here my page to tell you about all my favourite ban
ds and singers! I'm a huge fan of pop music from the UK and Ireland and I'm also a huge fan of boy bands and girl bands too (sorry to all those people who are puking at the sound of this! If you are, what are you doing here?) My biggest, first and all time favourite group is Take That! My other favourite bands/singers (in order) are East 17 (E-17), Ant & Dec, 911, Steps and Westlife. Of course of I love Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow and Mark Owen and I'm also a fan of the Spice Girls, Geri Halliwell, Boyzone, S CLub 7, B*Witched, Billie, Kavana, Ultra and many more!
Take That
By far Take That are my favourite boy band and music artists overall! They were a partly manufactured pop band formed in 1989. Consisting of five brilliant singers, songwriters and dancers, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Robbie Williams, Howard Donald and Jason Orange enjoyed worldwide success with hit singles, albums, videos and sold out spectacular tours! They were a respected group and proved to the critics that they had talent by penning their own pop songs and gaining 8 number 1s in the UK alone!
Robbie Williams departed from Take That in July 1995 and the now fab four continued their fight for domination in the USA. They gained this success by reaching no.7 in the US Billboard Charts with hit song Back For Good. But Take That broke millions of hearts around the world by calling it quits in February 1996.
I've been a fan of Take That only since 1994 and in my heart they live on forever and I have continued to be ever deidicated to them by keeping their spirit alive and supporting them in their solo ventures. I dont have a fav member cause I em all ever so equally! There are still plenty of Take That sites dedicated to them on the net and also mailing lists and online clubs! I'm a co-founder of a Take That Yahoo Club called Take That Mania! If you want to visit or join click here!

left to right: Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark
Owen & Jason Orange
If you want to look up any Take That albums the names of them are: Take That & Party, Everything Changes, Nobody Else and Greatest Hits. Gary has two solo albums called Open Road and Twelve Months Eleven Days. Robbie also has two albums called Life Thru A Lens and I've Been Excepting You. You may find an album called The Ego Has Landed which is a best of from both albums put together. Mark has only one album released called Green Man and Howard Donald has written songs for aritsts such as Kavana and Adam Rickett. Jason Orange has enjoyed some film and theatre acting success but is now taking some time off.
East 17 (now E-17)
I've been an East 17 fan longer than Take That so they too are very close to my heart. Tony, Brian, Terry and John started out as school mates and have join forces to make them one of Britain's most popular groups! Often known as the bad boys with a street image, they all wrote and sang brilliant pop chunes with groovy raps.
For the past few years they've had a lot of problems within the group and the record company which led Brian to leave the group before returning after agreement to seperate from their management. Then Tony left and the remaining three boys reformed as E17 and signed a new record deal with Telsta. Their new sounds has leaned to r&b sounds and is as smooth as ever! After considerable success with their new album Telsta and E17 has departed company and no news has yet risen from the E17 camp of a new album.

John Hendy
I've always loved East 17 because they wrote excellent pop tunes which you could dance to but also beautiful ballads which really showed off their song writing talents. Although I never got to meet them or see them in concert I heard a lot of interviews and they really are the funniest and nicests lads around! My fav member has always been Tony cause I thought he was a genius! I miss the old East 17 but I do love the new sounds of E17. If you were to purchase any of East 17's album I recommend 'The Journey So Far' which is their 4th album and also their Greatest Hits album. I hope to hear from them soon as I would hate for my fav bands to no longer be together. Rumours has it leading singer Brian Harvey is starting up a solo career soon!
Ant & Dec (formally PJ & Duncan)
The first time I heard of Ant & Dec was when they released their first single in Australia which was Steppin Stones back whent hey were called PJ & Duncan in 1996. I've never seen them in the tv show Byker Grove years ago but I thought they were funny, gorgeous and sounded really good when I saw their video clip. I've been a fan ever since! Although they've never had any success in Australia they've been quite popular in the UK.
Nowdays it seems that they no longer want the life of a pop star and have concentrated on hosting their own TV show SM:TV and CD:UK. This unfortunately means I havent seen them in years since I'm not in England and I do miss them a lot. I still love listening to their CDs and hope one day they come back and sing a song. My fav of the two is Dec cause I think he's gorgeous and dead funny but I love Ant too cause he suits my quiet personality more!
In order from left to right: Dec Donnelly and Ant McPartlin
911
911 are a brilliant group consisting of three members, Lee, Jimmy and Spike! I love these guys cause they are top singers and they sing great pop songs too! Oh and the fact they are GREAT dancers, especially Jimmy and Spike who are brilliant break dancers may also have something to do with it!
I've been a fan of these tiny lads since 1996 when they released their first single in Australia which was 'Dont Make Me Wait'! They never had much success at all in Australia despite being hugely popular in the UK, Europe and Asia, so therefore they've never had the opportunity to visit Australia! But Like Ant & Dec I've been ever dedicated to them and have continued to struggle to find their CDs in the shops and listen to them all the time! My fav member is Jimmy but I must admit that I think Lee is absolutely gorgeous! But I do think Jimmy should have more of a chance to sing solo cause he's very good!
After releasing their fourth CD, a Greatest Hits, there are has been rumours flying about them breaking up. And unfortunately the rumours were discovered to be true when in late February 911 announced on Radio 1 that they were officially calling it a day. Lee will be starting his solo career so but no news has been revealed about Spike's or Jimmy's future.
In order from left to right: Lee Brennan, Jimmy Constable and Simon 'Spike' Dawbarn
STEPS
Steps have got to be the coolest group around at the moment! They consist of five members. Three of which are female, Claire, Faye and Lisa, and two of which are male H and Lee. They are a brilliant pop group which have been around since 1998 when they released their first single '5, 6, 7, 8' across the world!
They sing a lot of pop dance songs although have proven themselves brilliant singers through many of their ballads as well! This group sing the most catchiest pop tunes in the world and have the best dance moves to go along with! Steps have become the next big pop group in the UK with their recent national tour becoming a huge sold out success beating previous records held by Take That and the Spice Girls!
After being the support act for Britney Spear's last US tour, Steps are on the way to conquer America!!! I've been a huge fan since the beginning and totally love em! My fav members are Claire and H!
In order from left to right: Lisa Scott Lee, Lee Latchford Evans, Faye Tozer, Ian 'H' Watkins, Claire Richards
WESTLIFE (formally Westside)
Westlife are a new boyband from Ireland. They're managed by Boyzone's manager Luois Walsh and Boyzone member Ronan Keating! They are a brilliant bunch of lads who have true talent up their sleeves. They have become massive around the world and are the first boyband to have their first 5singles all go to the number 1 position - thats a world record for boybands!
The first time I saw them was on TV when I watched the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party 98 and they were singing their first single, Swear It Again. I've been a huge fan ever since and i may possibly like them more than Boyzone whom I've been a fan of for 5 years compared to Westlife where I've only been a fan for a year!
They sing a lot of ballads but they can groove their thing too! Their music is mostly pop although they do sound a little r&b sometimes. They're more like a traditional boyband with Shane and Mark mainly taking the leads to the songs. I think their going to be massive in the USA as they have already conquered the whole world! They will live on far into the future and will take over Boyzone as being the reigning Kings of boybands.
